Dorsale Agno - Leogra

The Ortogonale 1 strategic line

400 mt. south of the Fima Pass, the Ortogonale 1 defensive line climbed Mt. Faedo and left the divide, then comprised Mt. Soglio and Mt. Casaron, overlooking the Priabona Pass.

The Faedo Plateau would thus become a large stronghold, protected by machine-gun stations and cave shelters. The 47th Siege Battery, equipped with 149mm cannons, was based in the Lore valley, and could benefit from a large ammunition depot.

The area was served by three military roads for heavy traffic, two of which came up from Mt. Malo, while the third (a communication road), originated in the Agno valley, climbed up the Roccolo di Rossato Pass, went through Faedo and Campipiani and finally reached the Priabona Pass.
