Col del Colombo

Paths: These paths were built to connect the immediate rears with the first lines, or to enable the movement of troops along the front. They had a constant pendency of up to 30%, and were 80 cm wide.

The one connecting the Colombo Pass to Mt. Scandolara is a well-preserved example of a military path.

Four cave shelters can be seen along the way, which gave shelter to both the soldiers occupying the artillery stations and the ones moving along the front line. Where the machine-guns and shooter stations are located departed a series of walkways still partly visible to this day.

At 825 mt. AMSL the path bent westwards, connecting to the La Guardia area and, at the top, entering the communication carriage road coming from Mt. Castrazzano.
